Keanu Reeves Could Star in Remake of “The Gangster, the Cop, the Devil”
Keanu Reeves, the star of The Matrix and John Wick, is in negotiations to take the lead in Paramount Pictures’ The Gangster, the Cop, the Devil, a remake of the 2019 South Korean film of the same name.
James Wan (The Conjuring, Aquaman) will direct. The original follows a crime boss in a provincial city who survives an attack by a serial killer. Hoping to regain his standing among his associates and take revenge on the murderer, the mobster teams up with a local detective.
Ma Dong-seok, who appeared in the original film, will return to play the gangster. The script was written by Eric Pearson (The Fantastic Four: First Steps). A release date has not yet been announced.
Next year, Reeves will also appear in the comedy The Entertainment System Is Down, from Ruben Östlund, the director of Triangle of Sadness.
