Katy Perry Announces Exclusive Free Performance at Mexico’s FENAPO Festival

Pop icon Katy Perry has delighted her fanbase with a surprise announcement: she is set to headline a completely free concert in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. The performance will take place on August 25 as a major highlight of the annual Feria Nacional Potosina (FENAPO).
The “Roar” singer shared the news in a spirited Instagram update late Tuesday evening. “I’m thrilled to confirm that I’m returning to Mexico,” Perry stated in the video. “I promised I’d come back, and here we are. August 25, FENAPO. It’s going to be a free show for all my Mexican KatyGatos—let’s do this!”
Beyond the promise of a complimentary performance, Perry teased an elevated experience for the crowd. “You are going to absolutely love this production. It’s a brand-new show, packed with high energy and pure joy. I’m doing this specifically for the fans, because you know how much I cherish our connection. I keep my promises, and I can’t wait to see you there.”
This upcoming appearance follows the massive success of her 2025 Lifetimes Tour, which launched in April at Arena CDMX. Praised for its avant-garde, futuristic aesthetic, the tour was a commercial powerhouse, concluding in December with a staggering $134 million in total ticket sales.
The FENAPO festival has previously made headlines for its ambitious and sometimes provocative headliner choices. Last year, the event hosted a high-profile, free performance by Marilyn Manson, which drew over 200,000 attendees and ignited significant public discourse. State Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona defended the booking at the time, framing the event as a bold exercise in artistic freedom.
This year’s eclectic FENAPO roster promises something for every musical palate, featuring legendary glam rockers Mötley Crüe, reggaetón superstar Yandel, regional favorites Kenia Os and Santa Fe Klan, and the genre-bending Argentine producer Bizarrap.
