Katseye Gushes Over Their ‘Joint Slay’ With HUNTR/X at Coachella

For the rising stars of Katseye, taking the stage at Coachella marks a major milestone they can finally cross off their bucket list.

The K-pop sensation—currently performing as a quintet featuring Daniela, Lara, Megan, Sophia, and Yoonchae while bandmate Manon takes a short break—sat down with Billboard the morning after their electrifying debut on the festival’s Sahara Stage this past Friday (April 10).

“The energy was absolutely incredible,” Lara shared during the interview. “Our dreams really came to life last night. Coachella has been our ultimate goal; whenever we were asked about our biggest ambition, this was always the answer. We’re still feeling so much gratitude that we finally made it happen.”

“It was pure chaos in the best way possible,” she added. “We really poured everything into that performance.”

A standout moment of their set arrived when the group invited HUNTR/X to join them for a high-octane collaborative rendition of the Kpop Demon Hunters anthem, “Golden.”

Reflecting on the experience, Yoonchae noted, “I was thrilled to share the Coachella stage with HUNTR/X. They were incredibly kind. When we launched into ‘Golden,’ the roar from the crowd was instantaneous—it was such a rush to see everyone so hyped.”

“Sharing that stage for such an epic performance was truly special,” added Sophia.

Perhaps the most significant highlight for the group was the live unveiling of “Pinky Up,” their latest hyper-pop single, which made its debut just ahead of their Coachella appearance. This track serves as the group’s first release during Manon’s hiatus.

“We are completely obsessed with this track,” Daniela confessed. “Premiering it at Coachella felt like a baptism by fire. Watching the footage back, I was just thinking, ‘Wow, we really owned that.’ The dance break, in particular, had the crowd going wild.”

Megan echoed the sentiment: “It’s quickly becoming one of our personal favorites. It has this bold, hard-hitting sound that makes us feel completely empowered. It’s definitely earned its place at the top of our list.”
