KATSEYE is riding a wave of massive momentum. Following the high-energy launch of their latest single, “Pinky Up,” and a triumphant appearance during the opening weekend of Coachella, the girl group has officially confirmed the upcoming arrival of their new EP, Wild.
The announcement, made on Wednesday, April 15, reveals that the collection is set for an August 14 release via HYBE x Geffen Records. A dedicated Spotify countdown indicates that the EP will consist of five tracks, headlined by their current single, “Pinky Up.”
While the official cover art remains under wraps, the group—comprised of Daniela, Lara, Megan, Sophia, and Yoonchae—shared a spirited celebration on Instagram. In a candid backstage clip filmed at Coachella, the members teased the news before revealing the massive festival crowd they performed for earlier that weekend, exclaiming, “They don’t know we’re about to announce our new EP, Wild.”
Wild serves as the follow-up to last year’s Beautiful Chaos, a project that surged to No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and spawned hits like “Gnarly” and “Gabriela.” This new installment also marks the group’s first major multi-track release since the announcement that member Manon would step away to prioritize her health and well-being. Consequently, Manon did not appear in the “Pinky Up” music video released on April 9.
The remaining five members performed at Coachella on April 10 and are slated to return to the stage for the festival’s second weekend on April 17. Discussing the group’s dynamic during a pre-performance conversation with Zane Lowe, Sophia reflected on their bond, stating, “Manon has been on hiatus, and we love her so much. We know she’s doing well… we’ve truly weathered so much together.”
Lara echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the group’s enduring sisterhood: “She is our sister forever. We love her dearly, and we built this foundation together. Right now, our focus is simply on giving her all the space and support she needs.”
