Kacey Musgraves has released a Spanish-language version of her Middle of Nowhere track “Uncertain, TX” in collaboration with música tejana group Intocable.
The re-recording is sung entirely in Spanish and incorporates norteño and Tejano elements into the song’s country-and-cumbia foundation. The original version featured Willie Nelson. This release marks Musgraves’ first fully Spanish-language recording.
“Having a song with the legends of Intocable is such a thrill for me,” Musgraves said in a statement. “As a Texan, I am proud of the cultural melting pot that makes our state so great and this collaboration is such a fun example of that.”
“Growing up in Texas, I’ve always been drawn to great storytelling, and Kacey is one of the best at it, so the moment her team reached out, I was in,” Intocable lead singer Ricky Muñoz told Billboard. “The fact that this embraces our Texas roots and culture makes it even more special to me. I’m proud to be a small part of Kacey’s Spanish-speaking journey. And as a Texican… I approve this message.”
The original “Uncertain, TX” debuted at No. 50 on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart with 2.4 million U.S. streams and helped Middle of Nowhere debut at No. 2 on Top Country Albums, according to Luminate.

Intocable is releasing the collaboration following several milestones. In September, the group performed for an estimated 300,000 people at Mexico City’s Zócalo during Mexican Independence Day celebrations. Earlier this summer, Intocable became the band with the most RIAA Latin Diamond certifications, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and accumulated 15 No. 1s on Billboard‘s Top Regional Mexican Albums chart and 21 No. 1s on Regional Mexican Airplay.
Musgraves is currently on her 34-date Middle of Nowhere Tour, which includes upcoming Texas stops in Houston, Austin, and Dallas before concluding across North America on Oct. 27. The tour has included sold-out shows at Chicago’s United Center and New York City’s Madison Square Garden.
