Justin Bieber Playfully Declines Mom Pattie Mallette’s Public Prayer for His ‘Healing’

Justin Bieber Shrugs Off Mother’s Public Prayer, Jokes About Ping-Pong Injury

Justin Bieber appeared to gently decline his mother’s public request for prayers, answering her earnest Instagram appeal with a lighthearted clarification.

Recently Pattie Mallette posted a carousel of black-and-white stills from her son’s “Speed Demon” video, along with a prayerful message asking for God to “heal every wound” in Justin’s “heart, mind and body.” In one of the photos he can be seen wearing a shirt that reads “Pray for me.”

Instead of accepting the plea as a serious call for intervention, Bieber replied under his mother’s post: “Only thing I need healing from is my rolled pinky toe from playing ping pong.”

Mallette’s original note invoked spiritual protection and restoration — declaring freedom from fear, confusion, heaviness and pain — and asked followers to join her in saying “amen.” She urged the Holy Spirit to surround him with truth, light and protection, and to silence voices that don’t reflect that faith.

Neither the reason for her post nor any specific concern about Bieber’s health was made clear. Both mother and son have long been open about their faith, and in recent months Bieber has posted several reflections about his spiritual life. In July he thanked Jesus for “his patience with me,” and earlier he admitted feeling “broken” and struggling with “anger issues,” while saying that faith keeps him focused on serving others.

On the career front, Bieber has been busy — releasing two albums, Swag and Swag II. Swag marked his first full-length since a multi-year hiatus and climbed to No. 2 on the Billboard 200. He is also scheduled to headline Coachella in 2026 alongside Sabrina Carpenter and Karol G.
