The scandal surrounding director Josh Safdie continues to escalate following allegations of predatory behavior during the production of Good Time. According to industry insiders, Safdie has been distanced from the promotional campaign for the Oscar contender Marty Supreme. Timothée Chalamet is now expected to represent the film solo at an upcoming Q&A event in New York City.
This follows a damning investigative piece by the California Post, which detailed the deep-seated professional rift that ultimately fractured the Safdie brothers’ creative partnership.
Disturbing reports suggest that a 17-year-old actress on the set of Good Time was pressured into an on-camera sexual encounter with co-star Buddy Duress, a former inmate. While the exposé characterizes Josh’s conduct as deeply inappropriate, it notes that his brother, Benny, was reportedly oblivious to the incident at the time.
