Joe Jonas Calls Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl ‘Catchy’ in New Interview

Speaking with Esquire alongside his brothers Nick and Kevin, Joe Jonas offered a measured reaction to Taylor Swift’s latest record, The Life of a Showgirl. The interview appeared in Esquire on Monday, October 20, 2025. (Full interview: Esquire.)
When asked about the album, Jonas — who briefly dated Swift in 2008 — said he’d listened to portions of it and found it appealing. He called Swift “obviously the biggest artist out there” and added that, from what he’d heard, the record includes several catchy melodies.
Released on October 5, 2025, The Life of a Showgirl made an immediate impact: its 12 tracks occupied the top 12 positions on the Billboard Hot 100 during their first week, and the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with sales exceeding four million units.
Swift responded to the milestone by thanking fans and describing the accomplishment as a deeply meaningful moment she’ll “cherish forever,” adding simply: “Just wow.”
Jonas has addressed questions about his relationship with Swift before. In a 2023 appearance on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert, he said, “I’m cool with Taylor,” and acknowledged — with a wink — the passionate loyalty of her fanbase.
