Jessie Reyez Joins Billboard Book Club to Discuss ‘The People’s Purge’ Poetry Collection: How to Watch

Following her 2023 release Words of a Goat Princess, Jessie Reyez returns with a new poetry collection — The People’s Purge: Words of a Goat Princess Volume II — and she’ll discuss the book during Billboard Book Club’s livestream on Tuesday, Oct. 14, presented by TalkShopLive.

For this edition of Billboard Book Club, the Canadian singer-songwriter will explore the origins and creative process behind The People’s Purge — a set of poems that grew out of a long-running Instagram series in which Reyez composes spontaneous pieces in response to fan prompts. The shoppable livestream, produced with TalkShopLive, begins at 4 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. PT on Tuesday, giving viewers the opportunity to pre-order the book (including a signed edition).

The livestream precedes the collection’s official release on Oct. 21 by one week. Reyez has had a busy year — she also released her third studio album, Paid in Memories, in March.

Billboard Book Club debuted in April with Geri Halliwell‑Horner, who joined to discuss her sequel Rosie Frost: Ice on Fire. In June, Victoria Monét appeared to talk about her illustrated children’s book, Everywhere You Are, a tender tale about a moon comforting a young star as they part ways at dawn.
