Jeremy Renner Will Not Appear in Avengers: Doomsday
Jeremy Renner has confirmed that his character, Hawkeye, will not be joining the lineup for the upcoming Avengers installment. Avengers: Doomsday is slated for an international theatrical release on December 18.
“I’m not in it. So, just so you know, the Avengers are probably going to lose. They didn’t call me, so that’s on them if they go down,”
— Renner quipped in a recent interview.
Despite this, industry insiders have speculated that Hawkeye could potentially return for Secret Wars, which is scheduled to hit theaters in December 2027.
Renner first stepped into the role of Clint Barton, better known as Hawkeye, in the 2011 film Thor. Since then, he has been a consistent presence within the Avengers franchise and even headlined his own self-titled Disney+ limited series.
The cast for Doomsday features Robert Downey Jr. (Doctor Doom), Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Pedro Pascal (Mr. Fantastic), Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), and Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), among others. The film is directed by the Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe, renowned for their work on Infinity War and Endgame.
