Jason Statham Action Movie Finds New Streaming Home
Jason Statham remains a very busy actor in Hollywood. He starred in two action movies in 2026, and he will star in two more next year, including the highly anticipated Beekeeper 2. Statham draws strong support from fans both inside Hollywood and among the movie-going public, even if critics do not embrace every project. One of those films, which was Statham’s only release in 2025, recently found redemption on a surprising streaming service.
A Working Man found a home on Chili, a European streaming service. It was the most watched movie on the service from Sept. 18 until Sept. 21 and remains in the Top Five today. Despite mixed reviews, A Working Man grossed nearly $90 million worldwide, which is twice its production budget. Viewers who missed out on A Working Man now have a strong reason to give it a try.
Director David Ayer previously worked with Jason Statham on The Beekeeper in 2024. The following year, they collaborated again on the set of A Working Man. Besides directing, Ayer co-wrote A Working Man with Sylvester Stallone. This trio creates a reliable formula for a fun, action-packed movie.
Rather than playing a hermit on a desolate island (Shelter), a bodyguard (Mutiny), or a beekeeper (The Beekeeper), Jason Statham takes on the role of a construction worker in Chicago. A Working Man takes the typical former-soldier-slash-cop storyline Jason Statham fans expect and places it around a construction site. Things escalate quickly, and Levon Cade visits various suspicious locations to take down a Russian mafia operation and rescue his boss’s daughter.

A Working Man becomes a hit on streaming

Jason Statham fans know what to expect when they sit down to watch his action flicks: a superficial backstory and entertaining fight scenes. He recognizes his strengths as an actor and prefers to stick to what he does best. For viewers seeking more of that classic style, A Working Man serves as a solid choice for the watchlist. The movie achieved recent success on the European streaming service Chili, securing a place in the Top Five several times this week.
