Jared Leto Denies Sexual Misconduct Allegations Involving Four Underage Women

Jared Leto has strongly refuted fresh allegations of sexual misconduct brought forward by four women who state that their encounters with the 30 Seconds to Mars frontman took place during their teenage years.

“I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life,” the acclaimed actor and musician stated in an official release provided to Billboard. “These accusations are entirely and categorically false.”

His remarks follow an investigative report published by the BBC on Wednesday, July 29, which detailed the findings of their new documentary, Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret. Among the individuals interviewed, one woman alleged that Leto assaulted her inside a motel restroom at age 17. Another claimed she was 19 when he purportedly threatened a similar assault in a hotel room after she was left unattended with the entertainer.

A third contributor alleged that she engaged in sexual relations with Leto when she was 17—an act classified as statutory rape under California jurisdiction where the event allegedly transpired. She mentioned that she openly disclosed her age to the Suicide Squad star, who reportedly dismissed her concerns regarding local consent laws.

The fourth individual stated that Leto subjected her to inappropriate remarks during numerous phone calls when she was 16, explicitly voicing his intentions to pursue a sexual relationship. She further alleged that representatives for the singer subsequently pressured her to sign a non-disclosure agreement to silence her accounts, though she firmly declined.

These recent claims build upon a broader history of scrutiny. According to the BBC, researchers cataloged upwards of 120 separate accounts describing questionable or predatory behavior directed at women, encompassing testimony from six additional figures featured in the documentary. Four of these women echoed previous statements regarding explicit phone calls received during their youth, while another alleged that at age 14, Leto made suggestive remarks regarding her appearance at a festival autograph session. She claimed he instructed security to escort her backstage, where he repeated the comments despite her mother’s intervention.

Altogether, the ten women interviewed in the project place these purported interactions between 2002 and 2016, a timeframe during which Leto would have been between 31 and 45 years old. Similar allegations involving nine distinct women were previously documented in a 2025 investigative feature by Air Mail, assertions that representatives for the artist promptly dismissed as entirely fabricated.

The Air Mail report also highlighted social media commentary from 2018, noting that actor Dylan Sprouse posted on X, “Yo Jared Leto, now that you’ve slid into the DMs of every female model aged 18-25, what would you say your success rate is?” Filmmaker James Gunn—who helmed the subsequent 2021 Suicide Squad installment, which noticeably omitted Leto’s character—reportedly responded at the time, “He starts at 18 on the internet?”

Outside of his cinematic career, Leto performs alongside his brother, Shannon Leto, as part of the rock outfit 30 Seconds to Mars. The group has secured five placements on the Billboard Hot 100 and charted seven studio albums on the Billboard 200, highlighted by 2018’s America, which peaked at No. 2, and 2013’s Love Lust Faith + Dreams, which climbed to No. 6.
