Japanese Adult Game Store Launches Its Own Payment System in Response to Censorship by Visa and Mastercard

Not everyone is willing to accept the specific rules imposed by payment networks, and some are exploring alternative ways to sell adult games.

In 2025, pressure from Visa and Mastercard on vendors of adult games intensified, and projects judged noncompliant began to be removed from sale.

Calls for an alternative payment solution followed — and one has now appeared. Japanese marketplace DLsite, which distributes adult comics (manga), games, and other digital content, unveiled a response to Visa and Mastercard.

The new payment option, “Minna no Ginko Payment,” is tied to the Japanese digital bank Minna no Ginko.

This system enables direct payments on DLsite by linking a user’s Minna no Ginko bank account to their viviON account identifier, removing the need for intermediaries.

For the moment, the solution is regional and limited to Japan — accounts cannot officially be opened from abroad.
