3D Realms has introduced a reputation change Voidpoint’s ’90s throwback shooter Ion Maiden. It is now titled Ion Fury.
Ion Maiden can be launched as Ion Fury when it arrives on PC August 15.
The title change comes on the heels of a swimsuit filed by the band Iron Maiden which claimed trademark infringement over the title Ion Maiden.
Iron Maiden filed the swimsuit because it believed the game’s emblem and title would confuse the public on the subject of “appearance, sound, and overall commercial impression.”
Hopefully the change made to the title will pacify the band.
Ion Fury stars Shelly Harrison, who initially debuted in 2016 game Bombshell. In the game, she is out to cease Dr. Jadus Heskel and his military of cyber-cultists utilizing her Loverboy revolver and Bowling Bombs.
The game was crafted using the Build engine which powered games resembling Duke Nukem 3D, Blood and Shadow Warrior giving it the final word ’90s really feel.
Despite the throwback, it incorporates modernized options resembling auto-saves, improved physics and map interactivity. The game may also help widescreen and controller help when it releases on PC August 15.
