ARK Community Crunch 308 Explained: Mjolnir and Fjordur

Studio Wildcard published Community Crunch 308 on March 25, 2022. The update introduced Mjolnir for the then-upcoming Fjordur map, confirmed that the hammer would work through the TEK Sword, and collected a new set of player stories, builds, videos, artwork and screenshots in the Community Corner.

Mjolnir revealed for Fjordur

Mjolnir was presented as a functional weapon skin rather than a cosmetic model swap. Applied to a TEK Sword, it would give survivors powers associated with Thor’s hammer, including lightning attacks. Studio Wildcard also warned that only a survivor who proved worthy would be able to use it.

The March announcement named June 2022 as Fjordur’s release window. The map launched on June 12, 2022, and the final version of Mjolnir kept the connection to the TEK Sword while adding strict endgame requirements.

Mjolnir unlock requirements and abilities

To obtain the Mjolnir skin, a survivor must defeat Fenrisulfr on Alpha difficulty. Using the hammer also requires level 190 and the TEK Sword Tekgram. When equipped by an eligible character, Mjolnir can be thrown and recalled, summon lightning around its landing point, and release an electrical surge that strikes multiple targets.

The Alpha Fenrisulfr requirement, the level cap and the TEK prerequisite are the final meaning of the announcement’s “worthy” hint. Mjolnir is designed as a late-game Fjordur reward, not an item available at the start of the map.

Community Corner highlights

Community Crunch 308 also confirmed that there would be no EVO event that week. Its Community Corner featured the second part of Rickzz#3486’s survival story, Sypher Sam’s rebuilt snow castle on Lost Island, and a tips video by pterafier. The post also included fan art and in-game screenshots submitted by ARK players.
