Insider Reports Marvel May Adapt Champions and Strange Academy into Films

Marvel Studios has already turned Nova from a series into a film and dropped the second season of Wonder Man, and further changes may now affect two more projects.

According to insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios is considering turning Champions and Strange Academy into full-length movies, but the studio has not yet made a final decision on either project.

Champions has already gone through several concept variations. Previous rumors indicated that Marvel initially planned a Young Avengers film before reworking it into a series. The potential team could include young heroes who have already appeared in the cinematic universe, such as Kate Bishop, Kamala Khan, Cassie Lang, and America Chavez.

Strange Academy was supposed to center on a school for young magic users. It was assumed that Wong, played by Benedict Wong, would be one of the central characters. Insiders reported that series development was previously paused alongside the Nova and Terror, Inc. projects. However, the pause for Nova has now turned out to be tied to a format change.

The Nova story was initially developed as a Disney+ series, but the project is now being prepared as a feature film. At the same time, the studio dropped the second season of Wonder Man even though a continuation was previously in development. A similar fate may now await two more projects originally planned for streaming.

Marvel Studios has not officially announced either Champions or Strange Academy. Information about both projects has surfaced only in media reports and insider accounts over the past few years. Nevertheless, the potential format shift aligns with Marvel’s broader streaming strategy overhaul.
