Insider Reports Blizzard Is Xbox’s Most Profitable Studio After Exceeding Microsoft’s Expectations
Studio management is reporting very strong performance metrics.
Windows Central insider and journalist Jez Corden recently discussed an internal letter from the president of Blizzard. The studio has the best performance metrics within the Xbox division.
In the excerpt of the letter provided, Johanna Faries notes Blizzard’s strong metrics:
In fiscal year 2026, Blizzard closed out the year as the top-performing studio in the Xbox division, while the past year marked the third-largest fiscal year in the studio’s history in terms of revenue.

Faries also noted that fiscal years 2025 and 2026 marked “the first two consecutive years of growth for Blizzard since fiscal year 2017.” In addition, she highlighted the successes of the Diablo IV expansion and Overwatch:
In particular, outstanding results were achieved thanks to Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred and Overwatch, which delivered its best quarterly result since 2022.
Faries emphasized that this success will help increase investment in Blizzard games, employees, and other initiatives that will “shape the future of Blizzard.”
