Imagine Dragons’ ‘Follow You’ Rules Rock & Alternative Airplay Chart

Nearly two months after leading Billboard‘s Alternative Airplay chart, Imagine Dragons‘ “Follow You” crowns the all-rock-format, audience-based Rock & Alternative Airplay survey, rising 2-1 on the list dated June 19.

The song reigns with 7 million audience impressions, up 2%, in the week ending June 13, according to MRC Data.

It’s the Dan Reynolds-led group’s fifth leader, good for sole possession of the fifth-most No. 1s in the chart’s history, which dates to 2009.

Imagine Dragons last led Rock & Alternative Airplay with “Natural” for 11 weeks in September-November 2018. The command followed that of “Whatever It Takes” (14 weeks, beginning in March 2018), “Believer” (17 weeks, beginning in April 2017) and “Radioactive” (24 weeks, beginning in March 2013).

Now with 67 total weeks at No. 1, the band extends its lead for the most time on top. Foo Fighters follow with 65.

The Rock & Alternative Airplay coronation of “Follow You” comes after the song spent a week atop Alternative Airplay (April 24), on which it’s since spent eight straight frames at No. 2 below twenty one pilots‘ “Shy Away,” whose place it takes atop Rock & Alternative Airplay.

Concurrently, “Follow You” lifts 11-10 on Adult Alternative Airplay after reaching No. 7. It has also enjoyed crossover appeal, hitting No. 11 so far on Adult Pop Airplay.

The song is the lead single from Imagine Dragons’ upcoming fifth studio album, its first since 2018’s Origins.
