Not long ago, we offered a preliminary glimpse at the quaint municipalities awaiting discovery in our upcoming Illinois DLC for American Truck Simulator. Today, we are excited to pull back the curtain once more, showcasing the meticulous detail our map designers are pouring into these settlements as they bring them to life.

Galena
Tucked away in the state’s far northwest corner, the enchanting town of Galena is nestled among undulating hills near the banks of the Galena River, a tributary of the Mississippi. Galena is renowned for its impeccably preserved historic charm; remarkably, more than 85 percent of its structures are recognized on the National Register of Historic Places. Navigating Main Street feels like a journey through time—many of these buildings stood back when Ulysses S. Grant, the 18th U.S. President, called this town home. While driving through, players will notice several iconic landmarks, including the high school’s distinctive tower, a local museum, and the town’s historic 19th-century assembly hall.

Rushville
Situated along Route 24, roughly equidistant between Quincy and Peoria, lies the welcoming community of Rushville. Home to approximately 3,000 residents, this town boasts a wealth of 19th-century architectural treasures. Our asset team has carefully modeled several key locations to mirror their real-world counterparts, such as the local courthouse, the central town square featuring its signature gazebo, classic storefronts, and various recognizable monuments.

Farmer City
Venturing northwest of Champaign just off Interstate 74, you will encounter Farmer City. This rural outpost is steeped in agrarian tradition and surrounded by vast stretches of fertile farmland. For generations, the local economy has been anchored by livestock production and crop cultivation, a heritage that is reflected in the surrounding landscape.

Grayville
Positioned on the border of Illinois and Indiana along the Wabash River, Grayville is a picturesque town easily accessible via Interstate 64. Its scenic location, characterized by riverfront vistas and rolling terrain, makes it a pleasant stop for drivers traveling east or west. Beyond its natural beauty, Grayville is a local cultural hub, famous for hosting some of White County’s most anticipated annual festivals.

Norris City
Following Illinois Route 1 south from Grayville brings you to Norris City, a peaceful village of about 1,000 residents. Surrounded by expansive agricultural fields, this town exudes a tranquil, small-town atmosphere and a deep sense of community, offering a quiet respite from the busier interstate routes.
