Hulu Officially Developing a Far Cry Series

Streaming service Hulu has officially entered development on a television series inspired by the video game Far Cry.

The project was first reported in August by film.ru. The series is being developed by Noah Hawley (Fargo, Alien: Romulus) and Rob McElhenney (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia). McElhenney is also expected to appear in a role. The show will be presented as an anthology, with each season adapted from a different game in the franchise.

Ubisoft’s Far Cry franchise debuted in 2004. The games generally follow a protagonist in conflict with an antagonist who has seized control of a region or other remote environment. The most widely known film adaptation remains Uwe Boll’s 2008 movie starring Til Schweiger.
