The main heroine has gained an unexpected rival.
Recently, Japanese illustrator mellco recalled working on Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland. During the cover design they encountered an unusual problem.
It turned out the horse was depicted so meticulously that it drew more attention than the anime-style heroine.
In an early version of the artwork the horse occupied roughly the same amount of space as the protagonist, with a comparable level of detail.
They ultimately chose to crop the Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland cover; the horse is now almost out of frame (a small portion remains visible on the right side of the artwork).
