Graham Tolbert‘>Hiss Golden Messenger have launched two new songs. Listen to “Watching the Wires” and “Everybody Needs Somebody” beneath. The songs, that includes backing vocals from Sylvan Esso’s Amelia Meath, are Hiss Golden Messenger’s first new music of 2019. In addition to the brand new songs, M.C. Taylor has introduced new solo tour dates; discover these here.
In a press launch, Taylor mentioned:
I wrote “Watching the Wires” and “Everybody Needs Somebody” within the basement of a home simply exterior of Portland, Maine, final summer season. 2018 was a tough yr—for myself and, because it seems, most individuals that I do know—and I used to be considering rather a lot at the moment about how to deal with what felt like an unnameable existential disaster: Run for the hills, or hug the closest stranger? Last fall, Hiss Golden Messenger launched a field set known as Devotion: Songs About Rivers and Spirits and Children. The band’s final album, Hallelujah Anyhow, got here out in 2017.
