After several years concentrating on acting, Hilary Duff re-enters the music scene with a buoyant new single titled “Mature,” issued on November 7, 2025. The track blends bright pop production with reflective lyricism as Duff examines how she’s changed over time.
“’Mature’ is a little conversation that my present self is having with my younger self,” Duff said, describing the song as a warm, slightly amused exchange between who she was and who she is now.
The single — her first full-fledged release in nearly a decade — was co-written by her husband and producer Matthew Koma alongside Madison Love, a frequent collaborator of Halsey. Duff’s last solo single was 2016’s “Little Lies,” though she did appear on Matthew Koma and RAC’s 2020 track “Never Let You Go.”
Speaking in October, Duff acknowledged the importance of her LGBTQ+ fanbase to her decision to make new music. “You know it’s all for them,” she said, noting that their support has been a major motivation for her creative return.
In September 2025 Duff signed a new deal with Atlantic Records, and the announcement also included plans for a docuseries that will chronicle her journey back into music.
