According to Pratt, the show will place a significant emphasis on the Malfoy family environment, providing a narrative depth that expands beyond J.K. Rowling’s original novels and the previous film adaptations.
“I believe this adaptation will reveal much more than the books did. Both the literature and the films were told strictly through Harry’s lens. [Showrunner] Francesca [Gardiner] and [director] Mark [Mylod] have both spoken about this: you are going to see a lot more of the world. For example, you’ll see the professors in their private offices, and you’ll see Draco at home. I won’t give too much away, but there are some fantastic scenes at his house where you really begin to understand his true nature,” Pratt revealed in an interview with 1883 Magazine.
Johnny Flynn is set to portray Draco’s father, Lucius Malfoy, while the actress chosen for Narcissa Malfoy remains a closely guarded secret. HBO is scheduled to premiere the Harry Potter series in 2027.
Pratt is also recognized for his role in the BBC’s new adaptation of *Lord of the Flies*, which made its debut last week.
