GTA VI: a playable female character? An insider gets wet and swings!

If it is obviously noted that Rockstar Games is currently working on the production of the next GTA VI, the information around the game is minimal, if not non-existent. The only time the star studio has deigned to communicate around the game is through an easter egg linked to GPS coordinates that had appeared in one of the GTA Online videos. Of course, Rockstar Games has taken care not to formalize all this, just to let the doubt hover a little more. In the meantime, we are content with snippets of information or rumors gleaned here and there on the Internets, especially on the side of the insiders. From the latter, we learned that the Bully 2 project was sacrificed in 2017 for good, in order to meet larger needs, such as completing Red Dead Redemption 2, or even going full steam ahead in development. from GTA VI, Rockstar Games are now only working on one project at a time.

But the rumor of the day concerning GTA 6 comes this time from Tom Henderson, an insider to whom we owe many leaks that have been verified subsequently, especially in the universe of Call of Duty, including this is his specialty. Without warning, the latter tweeted on his personal account that the next GTA 6 will include for the first time in the saga a playable female character, alongside a male protagonist. What should we understand by that? That we will have the choice at the start of the game, by creating our own avatar as is already the case in GTA Online? That the single-player campaign will allow us to play a woman and then a man in turn according to the needs of the scenario? Lots of unanswered questions, while the tone employed by Tom Henderson’s tweet seems quite categorical.

Of course, you have to know how to take the tweezers of rigor because these are only rumors, but let’s not forget that GTA VI will be released in a context different from the previous episodes, especially after the #MeeToo controversies which made a lot of progress of things within our society. It is therefore not impossible that Rockstar Games can get up to date, just as it did with the nude sequences in the last GTA 5, a much less subversive episode in this regard. Cyberpunk 2077 for example was much more believed in the images concerning the use of sex in its game. But hey, wait & see as they say. It also rhymes.
