GTA The Trilogy The Definitive Edition: The Game Has Been Censored, Here's What Has Been Changed

Officialized by Rockstar Games just a few days ago, GTA The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is at the heart of everyone’s attention. If recent discussions revolved around the quality of the restoration, others have preferred to focus their attention on the details, an element oh so important and cherished by the developers of Rockstar Games who never leave anything to chance. And it is precisely by scrutinizing one of the characters in the trailer that some Internet users have noticed changes on the latter. It is indeed Phil Cassidy, a well-known protagonist of GTA: Vice City, arms dealer and who has always put forward these political preferences on the clothes he wore. In the original game, Cassidy wears a t-shirt with the Confederate States Flag, a logo that harkens back to the Civil War that tore the United States apart, but has become more of a far-right symbol. This is not the first time that the Dixie Flag is banned in video games and despite the subversive side that has always animated Rockstar Games, the publisher preferred to change this flag with a much more classic skull and no wave in 2021. Contacted by Kotaku on this subject, Rockstar Games did not wish to comment on this self-censorship, probably preferring to end the game so that it is released on the announced date.
