GTA Online: Rockstar Games Preparing to Add Text Chat to Enhanced PC Version
If you frequent the Rockstar Games Launcher, you’ve likely grown accustomed to its near-constant stream of updates. It begs the question: what exactly requires such frequent maintenance?
According to reliable insider Tex2, the most recent patches may finally hold the key to resolving a persistent grievance within GTA Online (Enhanced). Since the day this version debuted, players have lamented the notable absence of a standard text chat feature.
The latest intelligence suggests that Rockstar is developing this functionality as a universal overlay. Rather than integrating it directly into individual game engines, this system is designed to function across their entire multiplayer catalog—including Red Dead Online, Max Payne 3, and, most crucially, the highly anticipated online component for GTA 6.
The RGL update from last week did include references towards text chat.
It looks like R* is trying to implement it as an external overlay that can apply to any R* game with multiplayer support, such as GTAV, RDR2, and Max Payne 3. Instead of simply adding it in-game.
