GTA 6 Was Shown to Gaming Media at a Closed-Door Event
Industry reports suggest that the initial wave of media previews for GTA 6 could go live as early as August 27. A select group of journalists was allegedly invited to an exclusive behind-closed-doors session to witness real-time gameplay firsthand.
This private showcase purportedly took place in July—most likely hosted at one of Rockstar Games’ primary studios—under exceptionally tight security protocols. To prevent leaks, attendees were reportedly required to surrender all smartphones and recording equipment before entering. Following the studio’s longstanding tradition, this was strictly a hands-off demonstration: a Rockstar representative operated the controls while the press observed and took detailed notes.
The review embargo is widely expected to lift in conjunction with the premiere of Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, finally allowing outlets to publish their initial impressions and gameplay breakdowns.
