Rather than dealing with a flood of individual leave requests, one employer chose a refreshingly proactive approach. Burger Motorsports, a performance tuning firm based near Los Angeles, officially announced that they would simply close their doors for the entire day. The management team noted that a scheduling crisis was looming, as staff members made it clear they would be entirely “unavailable and/or in Vice City” on November 19.

The company plans to suspend all business operations, granting employees the freedom to “complete their initial exploration, finish at least one mission, and return to reality.” While no specific date for a return to regular business hours was mentioned, the fact that the game launches on a Thursday has many wondering if this will inadvertently turn into a massive four-day weekend for the lucky staff.
