GTA 6 Sales Forecast: Two Billion Dollars and 25 Million Copies on the First Day
At Konvoy, they attempted to forecast the figures for GTA 6 and shared their vision of how sales might unfold.
- The standard edition will cost $80 (with other, more expensive options available). This is cheaper than all the other main parts of the series when adjusting for current values.
- Pre-orders are expected to generate $800 million, with another $1.2 billion on the first day. Within two months, the game is projected to bring in $6.8 billion (much higher than estimates by analysts from DFC Intelligence).
- Total profit over 60 days will reach $7.66 billion, with nearly an additional billion from microtransactions and the GTA+ subscription if the new “Online” launches a month after the release of Grand Theft Auto VI.
- The distribution of copies sold is expected as follows: 10 million pre-release, plus 15 million at launch, reaching 85 million by the end of the second month. However, this last figure seems unrealistic, as currently there are about 75 million PS5 and 30 million Xbox Series X/S in circulation.
- More doubts arise around the claim that up to 200 people can participate in a multiplayer session. According to recent rumors, developers are trying to increase the count to 96, which is half of what Konvoy claims.
