Several hours earlier, six pieces of artwork appeared on billboards across three of the largest US cities, posted by the artists. They can still be seen in person at specific locations:
This is not the first time Rockstar Games has partnered with the streaming service. Three years ago, Spotify released an official playlist dedicated to the franchise, and today it was reworked for the sixth installment.
The perfect soundtrack for driving around Vice City, Los Santos, San Fierro and beyond ?️ 25 years of music from Grand Theft Auto’s most iconic stations, curated just for you, on Spotify now. https://t.co/BURUm5fajh pic.twitter.com/ihPq3hJocp

In the past, whenever a song from GTA 5 or GTA Online was published, it would appear on the user’s personal Social Club page, back when the service was still available, with an integrated Spotify player. The feature was not available there from the very beginning.
Tracklist
The Album consists of 34 songs, the first six of which are already available to stream. They correspond to the number of pieces of artwork revealed the day before. The artists who posted matching images really did record collaborations together. The roster promises to be diverse.
The artists created a lot of new artwork specifically for the project and even animated some of it.
- Yung Lean feat. Future и Metro Boomin — That’s It
- Travis Scott — RHYNO (prod. by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo)
- CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again.. & Etienne de Crécy — Sexy Magic
- Morgan Wallen — Last Thing You Need
- Rauw Alejandro — Macacoa 2000
- Keith Richards — Bright Lights, Big City
None of the six tracks were released ahead of time and were apparently recorded specifically for GTA VI. Two of them contain direct references to the game.
Travis Scott’s track includes a line naming the Boobie’s strip club:
Jack of Hearts, bae, I don’t wanna break mine
Rauw Alejandro’s track contains a play on the name of the protagonist, Lucia Caminos:
Ella está lucía’, to’ los camino’ conducen
This roughly translates as:
She looks beautiful, all roads lead to her.
Editions and Variants
The Album can be streamed on digital platforms, as well as purchased on CD and vinyl. While the digital version is straightforward, anyone looking to collect the entire music release on physical media will have quite a task ahead of them.
CDs, featuring two discs per box, are simpler. There are two variants, featuring the standard and alternative covers. A booklet is also included.
Vinyl comes in ten variants, and this does not refer to the number of copies produced, although that is limited as well. The music is identical across all of them, but the included items differ. Each package contains two records, along with sleeves and 12×24-inch (30.5×61 cm) posters.
The covers and sleeves come in two versions: standard and alternative. The posters are all different, with 10 designs in total. They feature artwork, some of which is completely new, including special Rockstar artwork and a Dazed cover. The records themselves feature different designs.
Where to Buy and Prices
The contents of each package depend on where you order it and how much it costs.
The CD and vinyl, including both standard and limited editions with alternative covers, are available exclusively through the official website launched specifically for the album, gtavi-thealbum.com. Orders placed there are scheduled to be delivered on November 20, which is one day after the game launches.
- CD — $20. The CD with the standard cover costs the same.
- Vinyl — $50.
- Limited Edition Vinyl — $126.
Other variants are tied to specific retail chains and are sold exclusively through them.
- Amazon — $50.
- Barnes & Noble — $50.
- Best Buy — $50.
- Blood Records — £40.
- BScene — £44.
- fnac — currently unavailable.
- HMV — £35.
- imusic — $49.
- Target — currently unavailable.
- Urban Outfitters — $50.
- Walmart — currently unavailable.
The combined price of all 12 variants is well over $500, not including shipping, which depends on the recipient’s address.
If you intend to collect the entire set, you should act quickly, as CDs and vinyl records have already started selling out. Some variants are already unavailable in certain regions, while in some countries, they are not available at all.
Immediately after the announcement, Kevin Weaver, president of Atlantic Records, the US record label working with Rockstar Games to release the album, thanked everyone involved. He also revealed that work on the release had been underway for two years.
At the end of the announcement, the developers said that more details about the music of Grand Theft Auto 6 will be revealed soon, including the dynamic score, the next evolution of in-game radio, and more.
