Recent updates from the latest investor briefing and subsequent press communications have begun to validate several points highlighted in our annual GTA 6 forecast.

Confirming that development remains on track, no new delays were announced, leaving Grand Theft Auto VI scheduled for its November 19 debut. During the session, Strauss Zelnick officially dismissed speculation regarding a delayed physical release. Rockstar Games intends to launch digital and retail versions simultaneously, a strategy likely reinforced by the anticipated rollout of PS5 and GTA VI hardware bundles. However, this synchronized release raises valid concerns about potential retail leaks and early story spoilers, which could once again pose a challenge for the studio.

Furthermore, the Take-Two CEO revealed that the game’s primary marketing blitz is slated to begin this summer. He explained that the company strategically concentrates its advertising expenditure as the launch window approaches, expressing high confidence that the creative vision of the promotional campaign will captivate the audience.

In a significant note on the development process, Zelnick emphasized that generative artificial intelligence was not used to build the game’s environment. He reaffirmed that the worlds created by Rockstar Games remain artisanal and “handcrafted”—meticulously constructed by human designers building by building, and neighborhood by neighborhood.
