GTA 6 Deserves a $100 Price Tag, Saints Row Developer Says Not All Games Should Cost the Same
Chris Stockman hasn’t played Rockstar’s upcoming title yet, but he has high praise for it.
In a recent interview with Esports Insider, Chris Stockman, the design director of the original Saints Row, offered his take on Grand Theft Auto 6, saying that Take-Two and Rockstar Games are entitled to set any price for what could be the most ambitious game ever created.
Stockman believes Grand Theft Auto 6 is the only title that could reasonably carry a $100 price tag.
They’re the only ones who can do it. I don’t think a $100 price will become the norm across games — if everyone started charging that, there would be massive backlash. Not all games are equal. GTA is the only one that can pull it off, and I hope they do. This game deserves $100.
Stockman also said that Grand Theft Auto III, released in 2001, inspired him and demonstrated what the future of the games industry could become.
