The fateful 27th has finally arrived. In just a week, this date has firmly established itself in the minds of many fans as the day of the release of the second trailer for GTA 6. It all started with a designer’s vacation notes at Rockstar North, which mentioned December 27th (1227) and the mention of Dealer 27 located on Highway 27 (amazing, right?) in Tallahassee, Florida. That was all the community needed to pin all their hopes on the last Friday of the year and find twenty-seven (well, almost) signs that either jokingly or seriously confirmed their theory.
- Florida, which served as a prototype for Leonida, is the 27th state to join the U.S.
- GTA 1 and the Grand Theft Auto series as a whole turned 27 this year.
- In a year when GTA 6 might be released, Rockstar Games will be the same age. And the numbers in the company’s founding year (1998) add up to 27.
- It’s been 27 months since that infamous “six” leak.
- At the 27th second of the first trailer, you can see the number 27.
- If you add the date and time from the police body camera from the same show, it comes to 12.27.
- On a screenshot of the Buckingham Akula (although it’s been around for more than a year if we’re right), “27” is marked on the helicopter’s fuselage.
- The sum of the numbers on the screenshot with the Willard Outreach Faction amounts to 27, just like the sum of the letters D and W if you count their ordinal numbers in the alphabet (4+23).
- The number of paper cutouts used in the creation of a holiday video is 27 pieces.
- The pre-Christmas message from the developers, if each letter is converted into a number according to the alphabetic order, summed, and then subtracted from the largest, can be interpreted as the number 27.
- There are 27 peyote cacti in GTA 5.
- Rockstar Games’ official YouTube channel has twenty-six playlists, and the 27th might include GTA 6 trailers.
- The main character in the 27th video chronologically on the same channel is a guy named Jason.
- This name ranks 27th in popularity among American boys over the past century.
- The identification order number of Bonnie and Clyde, who were the inspiration for the main characters of GTA 6, is 1227.
The entire Twitter community was watching for these “proofs” to emerge, so it’s not surprising that, for example, Ned Luke, who played Michael in GTA 5, reacted to this. It’s strange to presume that no one at R* had heard of this theory, especially when it originated from a post by their own employee. Thus, any subsequent actions by the developers could only be interpreted as trolling. They kept precisely twenty-six posts on their Instagram page, leaving the 27th to be… a reminder of a sale in the official store. Even the price of the socks matched.
