Ariana Grande has gained Best Pop Vocal Album on the 61st Grammy Awards. Her fourth studio album Sweetener took dwelling the glory, beating out albums by Camila Cabello (Camila), Kelly Clarkson (Meaning of Life), Shawn Mendes (Shawn Mendes), P!nk (Beautiful Trauma), and Taylor Swift (reputation). Tonight marks the primary time Ariana has ever gained a Grammy, and as promised, she was not in attendance to just accept the award. She was additionally nominated for Best Pop Vocal Performance (for “God is a woman”).
This week, Grande revealed on social media that she wouldn’t attend the Grammys following a dispute with the present’s producers over a deliberate efficiency. Producer Ken Ehrlich mentioned in an interview that Grande “felt it was too late for her to pull something together” for the present. Grande responded, “I’ve kept my mouth shut but now you’re lying about me. I can pull together a performance over night and you know that, Ken. It was when my creativity & self-expression was stifled by you, that I decided not to attend.” (Ehrlich referred to as her tweets “a surprise.”)
