Is a new era of Gracie Abrams music on the horizon? While the successor to her acclaimed 2024 LP, The Secret of Us, has yet to receive an official launch date, the singer-songwriter is more than ready to transition her latest creative endeavors from the studio to the public ear.

In a recent conversation with People during a Chanel-hosted event at the iconic Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, Abrams expressed a palpable sense of urgency regarding her upcoming work. “I’m beyond ready for it to belong to everyone else,” she remarked, hinting that the project is nearing its final form.

A New Creative Peak for GA3

The “Close to You” singer revealed that this particular collection of songs holds a unique place in her heart. “I’ve never felt this way about anything I’ve made before, so it’s definitely driving me crazy in a good way,” she explained. This exhilarating restlessness suggests that her third studio album—affectionately dubbed GA3 by her fanbase—might be her most ambitious work to date.

Despite the mounting anticipation, Abrams maintains a grounded perspective on the release process. She noted that she feels a sense of tranquility regarding the new material, having had the luxury of time to refine her vision. “At the end of the day, it’s all about the people you get to make things with and spend your time with,” Abrams added. “Any day in the studio is a great day.”

Building on Recent Success

While Abrams has remained tight-lipped about her current collaborators, her previous full-length projects—2023’s Good Riddance and 2024’s The Secret of Us—were produced in partnership with The National’s Aaron Dessner. Her sophomore effort was a massive commercial success, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and featuring the Taylor Swift duet “us.”

The momentum behind Abrams is undeniable. Earlier in 2025, she was celebrated as the Songwriter of the Year at the Billboard Women in Music Awards. Her track “us.” also earned a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, further cementing her status as a powerhouse in the pop landscape.

What to Expect from the New Record

Fans have already begun piecing together the sonic landscape of GA3. During various live performances throughout late 2024 and early 2025, Abrams debuted several unreleased tracks. Listeners at Glastonbury were treated to “Out of Nowhere,” while those at BST Hyde Park heard the haunting “Crazy Girl.” Additionally, a live recording of a new song titled “Death Wish” was released as a promotional track in April, offering a glimpse into her evolving sound.

As the “The Secret of Us Tour” concludes, all eyes remain on Abrams as she prepares to unveil her next chapter. If her recent comments are any indication, the wait for GA3 will be well worth it.
