Goodbye Glinda: Ariana Grande Goes Brunette Three Years After Going Blonde for Wicked
Ariana Grande Debuts Chocolate-Brown Hair in New Instagram Selfie
Published Oct 29, 2025

Ariana Grande has swapped her long-standing blonde look for a rich chocolate-brown. In a mirror selfie shared on Instagram on Oct. 29, 2025, the singer posed with a playful kissy face, showcasing a deep brunette hue and a side part.
Accompanying the photo, Grande quoted Glinda with the line, “it’s good to see me, isn’t it?” — a nod to one of the character’s memorable moments from Wicked. Fans quickly speculated whether the color was a temporary wig or a true dye job.
Grande appears to have confirmed the change was done by hair colorist Francesco De Chiara, whom she tagged in the post. De Chiara also reshared the snapshot to his Instagram Story with the caption, “Here she is,” suggesting the brunette style is authentic and professionally styled.
The new brunette marks a return to darker tones after roughly three years as a blonde. Grande first adopted the lighter shade in 2022 prior to filming Jon M. Chu’s Wicked duology, and she carried that look through promotions in 2024 and much of 2025.
Throughout her career, Grande has experimented with many colors — from the bright red she wore during her Nickelodeon Victorious days, to various brunette shades, and a brief silver phase around her 2018 Sweetener era. This latest transformation signals a fresh chapter as she readies for upcoming projects.
Looking ahead, Grande will return to cinemas with Wicked: For Good this November, and she’s slated to tour in support of her Billboard 200–topping album Eternal Sunshine in 2026.
