God of War: Laufey Releases in February

PlayStation fans have reason to celebrate as Sony Santa Monica Studio has announced an official launch date for the highly anticipated God of War Laufey. The latest installment in the iconic franchise is set to hit shelves a bit sooner than anticipated, arriving on February 16, 2027.

The title was initially unveiled during PlayStation’s Summer State of Play presentation, which stunned audiences by premiering roughly 23 minutes of raw gameplay footage right out of the gate. This fresh narrative shifts the spotlight onto Laufey (also known as Faye)—Kratos’ devoted wife and Atreus’ mother. Players will experience her post-mortem journey through the divine afterlife realm known as the “Everywhen,” guided by an eclectic duo consisting of a sentient gelatinous cube and a ribbon-like sword.

While this premise introduces a groundbreaking dynamic to the series, pinning down its exact chronological placement within the overarching God of War timeline remains a fascinating puzzle. Given that the realm itself bends conventional concepts of time and space, the adventure appears to run parallel to the events of the 2018 masterpiece.
