God of War Fans Upset by Sony’s PlayStation Controller Announcement — Insiders Say Expectations Were Overhyped

Some people have overly high expectations.

Lately, several insiders have become more active, claiming a God of War set in Egypt and a smaller-scale 2.5D Metroidvania project within the franchise.

As a result, ahead of the recent State of Play some fans anticipated big reveals, but after the DualSense showcase for God of War no new game was unveiled.

That left some God of War supporters, like Radec, disappointed — they expressed their frustration on social media:

“Did anyone else expect that the DualSense announcement for God of War would be followed by a reveal of the 2.5D Metroidvania?”

Insider Shpeshal_Nick joined the discussion and suggested the reveal might have been reserved for The Game Awards.
