Girls to return with a new season

HBO has officially confirmed the revival of the acclaimed comedy series “Girls.” This upcoming seventh season will consist of a five-episode run.

The original ensemble cast, including Lena Dunham, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet, and Andrew Rannells, is set to reprise their iconic roles. While specific plot details remain under wraps, production is scheduled to commence in 2027.

“Girls” first premiered on HBO in 2012, offering an intimate look at the lives and struggles of four close friends. The show achieved cult status throughout its run before concluding in 2017.

This revival strategy echoes HBO’s previous approach with “Sex and the City,” which was successfully brought back as the multi-season sequel series, “And Just Like That…”
