Our Stance on Modding: Preserving a Free and Accessible Ecosystem

User-created content has always been the cornerstone of the Farming Simulator experience. The artistry, ingenuity, and tireless dedication of our modding community have played a pivotal role in shaping the identity and longevity of this franchise.

We wholeheartedly believe in empowering and rewarding creators for their contributions. We actively encourage modders to accept voluntary donations, cultivate their own communities, monetize streaming and video content, and take advantage of the revenue opportunities provided through the official ModHub. However, one fundamental principle remains non-negotiable: direct access to any Farming Simulator mod must always be completely free of charge.

Strictly Prohibited Monetization Practices

To ensure a level playing field for all players, the following practices are not permitted under any circumstances:

  • Subscription & Membership Paywalls: Patreon tiers, Ko-fi rewards, or any recurring paid memberships required to access files.
  • Gated Community Access: Paid Discord roles, subscriber-only channels, or restricted “VIP” tiers.
  • Paid Early Access: Timed exclusivity or early-release versions available only to paying supporters.
  • Pay-Gated Downloads: Requiring donations, payments, or tips to unlock a download link.
  • Third-Party Commercial Sales: Digital storefronts, marketplaces, or web shops selling standalone mods or bundled packages.
  • Artificial Speed Throttling: Intentionally degrading download speeds to incentivize premium or paid download tiers.
  • Monetized Supplementary Assets: Charging for custom textures, shaders, sound packs, or auxiliary components associated with a mod.

The Value of an Open Modding Culture

An open, unrestricted modding landscape is vital to the sustained vitality of Farming Simulator. Uninhibited access fosters boundless creativity, breaks down economic barriers, and sparks meaningful collaboration across the entire global player base. Every player should have the freedom to explore, learn from, and enjoy custom content regardless of financial means.

Financial support should always remain entirely voluntary—an expression of gratitude, never a prerequisite for enjoyment.

Empower creators. Celebrate innovation. Keep mods universally free.

We remain deeply committed to exploring new avenues to recognize and reward our talented creators while maintaining universal access for the entire community. To everyone who dedicates their time, skills, and imagination to enrich the world of Farming Simulator: thank you for making this community extraordinary.
