Genshin Impact fan builds Plants vs. Zombies remake in miHoYo’s game editor

Players can now create their own content built on the Genshin framework.

Recently, the developers of Genshin Impact rolled out a “custom gameplay” feature. With dedicated in-game tools from miHoYo (HoYoverse), users are able to assemble their own projects in a manner similar to how creators build on Roblox.

Video clips showcasing the first titles made with these tools have started appearing online.

Western fans were particularly drawn to a project by a player from China: using Genshin Impact as the foundation, he produced a remake of Plants vs. Zombies — Hilichurls play the role of the advancing “zombies,” while elemental creatures act as the defensive “plants.”
