Game of Thrones movie to be released in 2029
Warner Bros. has officially announced the premiere date for a feature-length film set within the Game of Thrones universe. The upcoming project, titled “Aegon’s Conquest,” is scheduled to hit theaters internationally on June 1, 2029.
The narrative is set three centuries before the events of the original series, chronicling the rise of King Aegon I, the legendary founder of the Targaryen dynasty.
The screenplay is being penned by Beau Willimon, known for his work on House of Cards and Andor. The project will be helmed by director Owen Harris, who previously worked on A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Casting details have yet to be finalized.
