The film The Thing (Htuka), which recently joined the lineup of the Sundance Film Festival, will be distributed in Russia thanks to Arna Media. The leading role is portrayed by Taika Waititi, the celebrated New Zealand filmmaker and actor behind the cult hit What We Do in the Shadows.
The plot centers on a mysterious creature known as the Thing—the rarest and most formidable animal on Earth—which a young girl named Myrtle is desperate to possess. While her parents go to extreme lengths to fulfill her wish, their efforts are thwarted by Don Viscount, a determined zoo owner with his own agenda.
Following its world premiere on January 24, 2026, The Thing is expected to hit Russian cinema screens this coming summer.
