Forgotten 2018 Game Returns: Castle of Heart Gets a Remake

The contemporary market is crowded with games that have faded from memory. One such title is Castle of Heart — a project inspired by Slavic mythology and history. Though it received tepid reviews in 2018, the game has returned as a remake: Castle of Heart: Retold.

The original, developed by 7Levels, failed to capture the attention of players and critics. It holds an average Metacritic score of 53%, which at the time discouraged many prospective buyers. Still, sales were strong enough for the developers to give the project another chance.

Is it worth reviving? Remakes usually target games with clear market potential and name recognition, but Castle of Heart is barely remembered — at launch it peaked at only seven concurrent players on Steam. However, side-by-side comparisons reveal substantial work: visuals, controls, and animations have all been overhauled.
