What is Ready or Not 2 about?

The sequel begins moments after Grace survives the Le Domas family’s attack. The apparent end of the original game instead opens another level: she must protect her estranged sister Faith, survive four rival families and claim the High Seat of the Council that controls their hidden world.

That setup expands the first film’s lethal family ritual into a larger contest without discarding its central survivor. It also gives Grace a different emotional problem. She is no longer fighting only for herself; every decision can put Faith in danger.

Samara Weaving returns as Grace, while Kathryn Newton plays Faith. Searchlight’s cast list also includes Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, David Cronenberg, Elijah Wood, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, Varun Saranga and Daniel Beirne.

Its theatrical release moved forward to March 20, 2026, rather than the earlier April date found in old announcement coverage.
