You could be dancing to the Foo Fighters‘ Bee Gees tribute album next month, when the “Dee Gees” make their proper debut on Record Store Day 2021.
Dave Grohl already has the pipes like Barry Gibb for the project, after the rock band covered the Bee Gees‘ 1976 Billboard Hot 100-topping disco tune “You Should Be Dancing,” from the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, during an appearance on BBC Radio 2’s Sofa Session in February. But on July 17, the last day of Record Store Day 2021‘s two-day “drops,” the Foo Fighters are coming up with their own exclusive drop, titled Hail Satin, under their disco alter ego, the Dee Gees.
“Introducing…the Dee Gees!!! HAIL SATIN – coming to a local record store & dance party near your July 17th!!!” the band’s Instagram account announced on Thursday.”
Hail Satin will be divided into two parts: the first side featuring covers of Bee Gees classics and the B-side including live versions of songs from their 10th album, Medicine at Midnight, which earned the group its fifth No. 1 on Billboard‘s Top Rock Albums chart.
Earlier this week, the band hosted one of the first major shows in Los Angeles since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the live music industry in March 2020. The Foo Fighters will head to NYC’s Madison Square Garden for a full-capacity stunt this Sunday.
