According to U.S. outlet Collider, which cites the Film and Television Industry Alliance, principal photography on the Hollywood remake of Squid Game — to be directed by David Fincher — is scheduled to begin on February 26, 2026.
Netflix has not officially confirmed the report, though the claim appears highly plausible.
Fincher is currently working on the set of Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood spin-off, titled The Adventures of Cliff Booth, with Brad Pitt starring in the lead role.
The Korean original Squid Game officially concluded in the summer of 2025.
