Final Fantasy VII Revelation Creator Replays Game 46 Times Ahead of Release
Final Fantasy VII Revelation will offer a playthrough lasting more than 100 hours, and the game’s size on console and PC discs will be around 200 GB.
Project Director Naoki Hamaguchi shared details about the scope of the final chapter in the renewed story of Cloud and his team. According to the developer, a full playthrough involving side content and world exploration will easily exceed 100 hours, making the game even larger than the already massive Rebirth.
Hamaguchi has already played through the game 46 times in various test builds, using every spare moment from breaks between interviews to business trips with a controller in his hands.
Due to the massive number of mechanics, the director skipped battles during some playthroughs to focus on the narrative and asset verification.
The game will take up about 200 GB, so physical versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will receive only one disc, while the remaining files will need to be downloaded from the network.
Hamaguchi notes that the data volume by itself does not make a game outstanding, as the team prides itself on a well-crafted script and dedicates more time to other members of Cloud’s squad.
