Square Enix will show a new segment of the final chapter in the Final Fantasy VII trilogy during the gamescom Opening Night Live showcase.

Square Enix is nearing the completion of one of the most ambitious projects in its history. Following Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, a third installment will conclude the updated story of Cloud and his friends. Many questions about the ending remain unanswered, but new materials will arrive soon.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will be featured at gamescom Opening Night Live. Game Director Naoki Hamaguchi will present a brand-new segment during Geoff Keighley’s event. The presentation takes place on August 25. Square Enix has not yet specified whether this will be story footage, gameplay, or a new trailer.

The release of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is scheduled for spring 2027. Hamaguchi has already confirmed that the game will indeed conclude the entire story, and the ending will be included in the base version—the developers do not plan to move it to a paid DLC. Now it remains to be seen how much Square Enix decides to show in August.
